Pascal Gauzere played his rugby in the back row at Montfort-en-Chalosse in Federal 3. At the age of 20, realising his limited future as a player, he turned to refereeing. He went on to referee his first Top14 game in 2006. In August 2011, at the age of 34 he became the youngest professional referee in France. "
